A Nubian Safari offers a degree of independence,
which many anglers prefer. This safari is ideal
for two anglers or a small group of friends who
like to fish together. They can charter one or
two fishing boats and then set out to explore the
lake at their own pace on a fishing adventure
that has few equals anywhere. A small supply
boat, without a toilet and shower, carries the
requirements for a comfortable camp, with a cook
and his helper who will take care of cooking
great meals and keeping the beer cold.
The minimum number of anglers needed for a Nubian
safari is two in one boat and the maximum number
is six in two boats.
The Nubian Safari starts every Tuesday from Aswan
(or Graf Hussein) and ends on a Sunday. You can
come on a safari for as many weeks as you
want.
The safari prices listed below includes the
Arrival & Departure Package If you prefer to
make your own arrival and departure arrangements
then please deduct £95 from the cost of the
safari.
The fishing boats have comfortable on board
facilities. There are two bunks each with a
standard-size single mattress, which also
provides spacious daytime seating. At night this
area can be enclosed by canvas, creating a cosy
enclosed sleeping area with a 12v lighting
system.

NUBIAN SAFARI FISHING
GUIDES
One of the most important requirements for a
successful safari is a good guide. We take this
seriously and devote time and effort in selecting
and training our guides.
To become an African Angler guide requires a
minimum of 18 months training as an assistant
guide before we consider giving them command of a
fishing boat. Our guides spend a lot of time on
safari and as a result they all have an excellent
knowledge of Lake Nasser.
When we select our guides we look for what we
call a ‘hunting instinct’ and a genuine feel for
fishing.
The personality of the guide is also important,
as is their ability to communicate; all our
guides are fluent in English.
NUBIAN SAFARI STAFF
African Angler safari staff and fishing guides
are all Nubians who are the people that used to
inhabit the Nile Valley before it was flooded by
Lake Nasser. The Nubian people have a proud and
rich heritage that dates back to long before the
pharaohs were in control of ancient Egypt. To
this day they still maintain distinct traditions,
architecture, and their own language, even though
they had to migrate into Egypt or south to the
Sudan after Lake Nasser swamped much of their
traditional homeland.
